Siobhan Stirling is an experienced journalist and author, specialising in parenting and child development.

She writes regularly for national parenting titles, including; Your Family; Practical Parenting; I’m Pregnant; Pregnancy, Baby & You; Pregnancy & Birth; Mother & Baby; Tesco Baby & Toddler Club; and Junior. She has also written previously for: New Baby and Toddler Gear; BBC Parenting; Baby & You; New Baby; Practical Parenting’s Complete Guide to Pregnancy; Expecting Our Baby; Having A Baby; Baby Magazine; and Babycare & Pregnancy.

Her book ‘Sleep: Helping Your Child To Sleep Through The Night’ was published by Hamlyn in 2003. It provides a range of techniques to help parents establish successful night-time routines and break bad habits.

Siobhan contributes to The Independent, The Guardian and The Daily Mail. She has covered diverse topics for Zest and At Home magazines, and when she was building her house with her husband, Ian, she used her first-hand knowledge to write for Homebuilding & Renovating.

A broadcast journalist by training, Siobhan received her Post Graduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Central England in 1993, before going on to produce, report and present news and current affairs output for BBC Coventry and Warwickshire Radio, BBC Radio West Midlands, BBC Radio Nottingham and the BBC’s Asian Network. She later moved across to TV, working on BBC East Midlands and South East Today. She left the BBC in 2006 to concentrate on her freelance writing.

She and Ian have three children.
